Sorry I've been slackin' on the blog lately y'all, I have just been super busy!
Figured I'd just give a quick update on my life:
We had an awesome Thanksgiving! Good food, good family, good football.
I made a broccoli & wild rice casserole and a homemade cheesecake and they were both so delish so my next posts will be those recipes if y'all are interested.
Me & Morgan are actually still in Florida, we decided it was best for me and her to stay and Christian went back up last Sunday to finish his finals and then he'll be back. It's just 2 weeks, but 2 weeks too long!
We are currently in the process of moving in to our cute little cabin in the woods.
We've gotten a lot unpacked (well, what we brought down here. Christian's bringing the last load when he comes back) but we still have a lot to do.
The cabin was fully furnished and the kitchen was full of random dishes and the bedrooms were full of things we really don't need so I've been packing that kind of stuff up and giving my mom the things she wants back to her and the rest is off to Goodwill!
Morgan has grown tremendously in the past couple weeks. She has two bottom teeth in, and she seems pretty close to sitting up all on her own! She's just recently discovered her feet so she's constantly moving them and staring at them and she just started holding them. It's adorable.
Weight wise: This morning I was 130.4. That'll do for now. The morning after Thanksgiving Day the scale said 135.. AHHH. No good. Me & a friend are starting our new workout plan on Monday- and when Christian gets back he's starting some sort of workout thing with his friend. So we are going to have a competition to see who makes the most progress in whatever time period.
That's about all that's been going on- I'll do a real post within the next few days.
How many of you like those little pre-made pinwheel wraps you can get at grocery stores? I do but I never buy them.
I went to the grocery store today because we were out of bananas, applesauce, and cinnamon and passed by the deli section and saw some 'italian pinwheels' and I reallllly wanted them but I put them back. As I was walking to get the applesauce I kept thinking about the wraps.. So I went back and looked at the nutrition facts and they were 270 calories per 3 pinwheels and there was 6 in the container. I would want all 6 for sure but for 540 calories? No way Jose. So I decided to make some myself.
I grabbed some spinach flatbread wraps- 90 calories per wrap! Way better than the low carb ones I have that are 210 per wrap. All I needed to buy for them was the wrap and salami- because the 'Italian' ones had salami and I wanted to get as close to those as possible.
I started getting into making them so I lost count of the calories but I do know it was wayy less than 540 calories! I'm going to make Christian another for lunch tomorrow so I'll figure it all out and add it later.
But I used the spinach wrap, a little bit of chipotle dressing, 2 slices of turkey, 3 slices salami, 2 slices of reduced fat provolone, then sliced them up.
And they were good! Christian was convinced they were going to be gross because the wraps were green but he really liked them too. (BTW the wraps don't taste like spinach if you are also skeptical)
She used to be such a great sleeper, no lie at like 5-9 weeks she would sleep completely through the night sometimes. It was great.
But now not so much. She wakes up at least once a night. Which is perfectly fine with me, and totally understandable.
BUT sometimes she just won't sleep. For instance, this morning she woke up at 7, we played and did some chores around the house and around 9:15 she fell asleep, which is pretty normal for her to fall asleep for a little while not long after she wakes up for the day. She woke back up at 10:15. There's an hour nap. She hasn't slept since.... She has taken 3 little cat naps throughout the day but nothing longer than 30 minutes. She FINALLY fell asleep around 9. We are exhausted!
She looked exhausted too. All evening she was whining and fighting going to sleep and her eyes were heavy but she just would not sleep. And heaven for if you try to rock her. No. You must stand with her at all times.
Everytime she took one of her little "cat naps" we'd try to lay her down in her crib but she wakes up instantly. The ONLY place she sleeps good is in bed with me. And it's driving me and Christian nuts!!
I don't get good sleep if we are all 3 in bed but sometimes Christian just sleeps on the couch. So it's really sucky either way.
We tried the whole lay her down in her crib tired and let her cry it out. (We checked on her frequently though, don't think we are mean) and the internet says infants normally cry for 15 min before falling asleep. ONE HOUR. One hour we tried to get her to sleep in her crib until we finally gave up. She hates sleeping on her back, that's what I'm convinced is the problem with that. She only wants to sleep on her tummy.
What do we doooooo??
She's not always this way, sometimes she's a great sleeper, especially during the day. She usually naps around the same time each day and it's awesome. But lately she's been such a pain at night and so stubborn and can't get a good nights sleep!
Someone give me some advice!
Please and thank you.
I'm done venting now, I apologize. I'm tired! Lol
I have some new yummy yummy recipes for yall to try that I'll try and get up soon, so stay tuned!
SO here's the lowdown on my weight loss, exercising, advocare, healthy eating, that stuff.
I am still weighing between 128-130 each morning, and tomorrow is day 24 of my 24 day challenge with Advocare. So I'm done, so I lost about 5-7 pounds. And I was shooting for 5 so I'm happy!
I enjoyed doing it, it kept me on track and gave me a plan to follow which is what I like. Yes, I cheated some days but I've been working out a lot so I'm not too worried about the occasional sweets.
I still have a long way to go, I'm just hoping for 125 by Christmas, and then 120 by the beginning of February. I've been really bummed about my weight, everyone keeps saying how great I look for having a baby less than three months ago, and I really appreciate it, but I just don't feel like myself. I used to have this flat stomach than didn't jiggle very much and my hips weren't as wide and it's a hard thing to adjust to. Especially when I see other people my age because not many 19 year olds are having to worry about losing baby weight, going to school, and taking care of a baby and husband all at the same time. But I just need to be patient, which is hard!
I am enjoying is feeling stronger, I love going to the gym and exercising. It gives me time to myself, time to think, and obviously it gets me in shape. I've gotten up early to go a few times this week, and getting to the gym around 6:30-7 and it's so nice. Not many people there, and it starts my day off right.
Here's my latest fitness selfie, hahaha.
This is me 12 weeks, 5 days postpartum.
I'm getting where I want to be slowly but surely, and that's better than not at all.
Pacetre (pronounced pastry) is a little bakery right down the road from our apartment and it's adorable! I've been wanting to go in there for forever and we finally went today and it was so yummy and so cute and I'm in love with it. If you are ever in Evansville, IN you need to go! Here's pictures :)
I LOVE SMOOTHIES.
I never really made smoothies/shakes before but now I make them at least once a day.
It's like a lot of food blended into one tasty drink, that you don't even have to chew...
It's the best.
It's also the best when you just come from a workout and you're trying to keep it light and healthy.
So I normally do some kind of berry shake but today I did peanut butter and banana to get me some more protein and to mix it up.
I forgot to take a picture though :(
Here's what I used:
1/2 cup light & fit nonfat vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup silk pure almond milk, original and light
2 tbsp natural peanut butter, I used Skippy.
1 banana broken into pieces
a few ice cubes to make it cold
I started off with 1 tbsp of peanut butter but it wasn't as thick as I wanted so I added another tablespoon. I was trying to just stick to 1 tbsp but I had to do it.
It was SO good.
Bananas with peanut butter on top is my favorite snack and it was just as good in liquid form, try it out and tell me whatchaaa thankkkkkk
